GIVING BACK FEELS GOOD

Here at the Surfjack, we’re all about community. Hence, Talk Story Sessions that bring together tastemakers from Hawaii and beyond; nightly live music featuring local musicians; our buzzed-about summer swim club series; and our commitment to sustainability and a #PlasticFreeHawaii, to name just a few of our events and initiatives.

This year, we were proud to participate in Volunteer Week Hawaii—a week that encourages residents, visitors, and local businesses to volunteer with nonprofits and community groups to build awareness and a stronger community. We paired up with the nonprofit Hands in Helping Out (HIHO), an organization that takes the hassle and guesswork out of volunteering by matching individuals and groups with nonprofits that fit their lifestyles, abilities and personal interests.

We gathered together for healthful food (by Mahina & Sun’s executive chef Erik Leong, of course), while we helped fold pamphlets for Waikiki Health Center. That week, we also collected donations for “shirts of aloha,” a non-profit that benefits the homeless as they begin their job search.

Be sure to check out our monthly Experiences page, our monthly events on Oahu round up, or visit HIHO.org to see how you can get involved with the community. Trust us, giving back feels good.
