We’ve officially been selected as USA TODAY’s / NEWSWEEK’s Best Pet-Friendly Hotel for 2025—and we’re celebrating all season long. Whether you’re traveling with your pup or just love a dog-friendly vibe, this is your sign to book that summer stay.

What better way to celebrate than by launching a new monthly ritual for our dog loving community?

On June 28, we hosted our very first Yappy Hour in the Surfjack Living Room, and it was a full-on tail-wagging success. In collaboration with our favorite local partners—K9 Kokua and Fur-Angel Foundation—guests and their pups came together to sip, snack, and socialize for a good cause. Think: doggy tapas (mini sushi for pups!), pup cups, and plenty of belly rubs to go around.

Attendees grabbed drinks and bites from Mahina & Sun’s and mingled in the Living Room and around the pool, while pups enjoyed special treats from our partners—custom tapas by K9 Kokua and sweet pup cups courtesy of Fur-Angel. We also raffled off a swag-filled staycation giveaway and stocked the space with merch, adoptable pups, and feel-good community vibes.

Even JACK, our hotel dog, made a apperance—soaking up the love, wagging hello to guests, and spreading the Surfjack aloha in his signature style.

We’ll be doing it all again every 4th Saturday of the month from 4–5pm, so grab your furry bestie and join us for the next Yappy Hour on Saturday, July 27. Expect new tapas from K9 Kokua, maybe a surprise appearance from adoptable dogs, and the same warm aloha spirit.
