THE RECAP: SUMMER AT THE SWIM CLUB VOL. 3
August 29, 2017
It’s been a long hot summer and thanks to our Surfjack ohana it’s been an epic one, too. This season, our focus was to bring the community together with our annual series of pool parties, dubbed #SummerAtTheSwimClub, that feature a mix of music, art, craft cocktails and more.
Thanks to all you partygoers, Volume 1 raised over $2,600 for the local nonprofit UVSC (U Versus Cancer | Us Versus Cancer). For Volume 2, daytime disco was provided by Smooth Sailing while artist-in-residence Ashkahn served up spiked shave ice, all in support of Surfrider Foundation‘s Oahu chapter.
We rounded out the summer with Volume 3, featuring swimwear by Amuse Society, Moroccan beach bags by TALA and a pop-up shop with Bikinibird. Once again, our friends at Flux Hawaii joined us and brought along their latest issue for some poolside reading.
Kyle Woods, resident DJ for Saint Heron, was behind the booth playing tracks that bridge the gap between various genres. Kyle has DJ’ed all across the country and played alongside some of the industry’s top names, so we were stoked to have him here at the Surfjack. So stoked, in fact, that we asked Kyle to come back to DJ for our annual New Year’s Eve bash. [Get to know Kyle’s style by downloading the mix he made exclusively for the Surfjack.]
Proceeds from Volume 3 benefitted the Joyful Heart Foundation.
