The Place to Stay in America’s New Cultural Hub
Watch as the TODAY Show and Travel + Leisure declare Honolulu and the Surfjack a Top Vacation Destination for 2017Travel + Leisure’s “Best Vacation Destinations” for 2017 were featured on NBC’s The TODAY Show, among them The Surfjack Hotel & Swim Club.
Here’s an excerpt of what Jacqueline Gifford, special projects editor at Travel + Leisure, had to say: Honolulu is known for its sand, surf and sun, but now it’s also showing itself to be a cultural hub as well, with many new attractions. Visitors can look forward to building-sized murals by POW! WOW! artists throughout the neighborhood of Kakaako in unlikely places like the sides of warehouses and even at construction sites. From March 8 – May 8 2017, Honolulu will host its first ever Biennial when artists, both local and from all over the Pacific Rim, will come to together to participate in panel discussions and to create art installations. Visitors can also plan a stay at the mid-century inspired Surfjack Hotel & Swim Club, which has embraced the local art community by commissioning many custom works like handmade Bird of Paradise wallpaper, and the handcrafted mural “Wish you were here” at the bottom of the pool.
