Hale: The Current

Our friends at PLANOLY recently published an inspiring blog post on how to survive this time of social distancing, which encouraged us at the Surfjack to share our insight and updates as well! Mahalo to PLANOLY for being a bright light in this time of uncertainty!
We have guests who have noticed our shift in operations on the daily – and we’re so stoked to hear the positive feedback they’re giving. But hey, that’s just how we do things over here at the Jack. 😉 Nah, nah. To be transparent with you family, it hasn’t been an easy time. Not that it is for anyone, but as we remain open as a hotel, we’re doing our best to share aloha around the clock to our guests & team. Here are some updates we want to share with you all.
Our team as a whole has taken the initiative to wear protective masks while out in our community areas on property. You’ll see our guest services + house keeping team sporting masks and gloves as they serve you. As we hope the virus is meeting its’ peak right now, we understand that these precautions are necessary. We’ve posted signs encouraging guests to ask for a disinfectant wipe prior to filling up their water or grabbing ice at these communal stations, for their own safety. If you come by while walking your dog or picking up some food to go, you might notice a couple of us with our laptops in the cabanas and living room working. Don’t worry, those of us who are clocked in are still practicing social distancing! It’s nice to be working in the fresh air together – 6 feet apart of course.
Overall, the vibe is comforting, supportive, and most importantly – calm over here at the Surfjack. We’re still jamming our beloved music, just grooving with our masks on! While we remain open, we hope everyone is staying healthy, keeping busy (yes, watching Netflix still counts as being busy), and taking this time to be positive where you can. Aloha, and a hui hou!
